2019 Cowboy of the Year

Congratulations to Ivan Ahntholz who was voted 2019 Cowboy of the Year!  Ivan has been announcing for  the Heartland Rodeo Association since the very beginning, in 1995!  Ivan takes countless hours to sit down and talk with each and every contestant to get to know them and their life. Ivan is the voice behind the mic and truly knows how to get the crowd into the event! Ivan has announced his retirement this year and has truly deserves to go out as cowboy of the year after playing such an important roll for the past 24 years!  We want to thank Ivan for his love and support to the association and the members!  Happy retirement to you and your wife.  We will miss you both in the coming years!
2019 Cowgirl of the Year

Congratulations to Crystal Mason who was voted Cowgirl of the Year for the 2019 season!  Crystal is known for her infectious smile and laugh! She is great role model for all members as she spends her weekends at the rodeo helping and volunteering her time to the rodeo family.  You can find her helping the young girls with setting the barrel patterns, helping behind the roughstock chutes sorting bucking stock, steers, and bulls.  Even tying flank ropes for the junior bulls and bulls.  Thank you Crystal for being such a positive influence and amazing role module!  We all look forward to seeing you next year!

Heartland Rodeo Association

2019 was an amazing year for Heartland with 8 rodeos including the finals throughout Manitoba with good weather and lots of great runs and rides.
The Hanover Agriculture Society did a fantastic job hosting our Year-End Finals rodeo and banquet in Grunthal for a third year in a row so hats off to the group for all the hard work providing the rodeo members, contestants, and community a very memorable weekend.
Our dedicated sponsors, who we are so grateful for, gifted our association enough to give out a full slate of awards in each of the categories, including hi-point, season runner-up, finals champion from our youngest peewees to our mature Jack Benny’s! In addition to our awards, we did something amazing this year by adding $10,000 added money to make the payout higher then it has ever been!
Overall it was a great season for our association and member and we would like to thank all of the people that participated! So, until next season, may you be blessed with an abundance of family and friends!
We look forward to seeing you for our 25th Year in 2020 with lots of exciting news to come!

The Heartland Rodeo Association was created in 1995 to promote and continue the sport of rodeo in Manitoba, with the entire family in mind. It is built open family oriented weekends, giving contestants of all ages the opportunity to compete in rodeo events. Today, it is still a strong and growing association, hosting rodeos throughout the year in various locations throughout the province. Competitors strive towards achieving the highest number of points in each of the 9 major and 2 minor events throughout the rodeo season. To end each season, the Heartland Rodeo Association holds a finals weekend, where top qualifiers compete for a chance to win awards.
